All at Notre Dame - graduate assistant coach 1963-1965; assistant freshman football coach 1966-1967 while also assisting varsity squad win a national championship 1966; 7 years as football recruiting coordinator while coaching offensive and defensive lines, receivers and special teams at different times; assistant football coach under Hugh Devore, Ara Parseghian, Dan Devine, and Gerry Faust; was on coaching staff 8 seasons that ended in post-season bowl appearances, including 6 victories (3 Cotton, 1 Orange, 1 Sugar, 1 Gator) and 1973 and 1977 National Championships; served as first head coach of women's softball team 1989-1992; had four 30-win softball seasons, Midwestern Collegiate Conference titles 1990 and 1991, league title 1992, and MCC Coach of the Year 1989; former member of United States Fencing Association college and high school advisory committee; served 2 years in the US Army Medical Service Corps 1968-1970.

Merit Contributor - Administrator: Served Notre Dame athletic staff 39 years as a coach and/or administrator; as an assistant athletic director, was the general manager of the Joyce Center at Notre Dame; served as chair of the Edward W. Moose Krause Chapter of the College Football Hall of Fame's scholarship committee; served as administrator for men's/women's track and field, cross country, swimming and diving, softball, hockey, volleyball, baseball, and fencing.
