Taught US History at Pendleton Heights 1994-1985 prior to becoming the athletic director in 1986, retiring in 2016; PHHS football field named in his honor in 2016; inducted into the IFHOF on this field at half-time of the October 4, 2019 football game; was a member of Region 8 Indiana Football Coaches Association.

Coaching Experience: Assistant football coach Bloomington South 1972 when team won State Championship; assistant coach Newport Central Catholic (Kentucky) 1973; assistant coach Pendleton Heights 1974-1975, then head coach 1976-2015, with a record of 226-186; retired from coaching in 2015 after 44 years total coaching experience
Coaching Honors: Hoosier Heritage Conference Coach of the Year 10 times; teams won conference 8 times; 2 unbeaten regular seasons 1989, 1998; won Sectional 2010, 2011; Indiana South All-Star Game head coach 1990; an Indianapolis Colts Coach of the Week 2011; coached 33 All-State players and 10 North-South All-Stars.
