Coaching Experience: Football coach at Marshall, IL, HS, with a 12-4 record; Washington College, Chestertown, MD, with a 4-10 record; Indiana State University, with a 6-2-1 record; coached football at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology for 28 years, with a 99-109-7 record; also served as Director of Athletics during his time at Rose-Hulman, with no football teams during three years of WW II.
Coaching Honors: Two undefeated teams; named an "All-America Coach" by Cincinnati Enquirer 1930; coached two leading college scorers in nation; field at Rose-Hulman renamed "Phil Brown Stadium."
Outstanding Players Coached: Carl Heracovich and Eddie McGovern, half-backs, who led the nation in points scored in a single season, plus many others.
