Charles "Cocky" Bush Day on June 22, 1974 - the community and Board of Education named new football field "Bush Field" and provided a Charles "Cocky" Bush Scholarship at Indiana State University; City of Lafayette and Lafayette Red Socks sponsored "Cocky Bush Days" in 1941; presented the Distinguished Alumni Award by Indiana State University in recognition of reflecting honor and distinction on his alma mater; President of ISU "I" men and Sycamore Varsity Club promoting football at ISU; member of Search Committee to select Athletic Director of Indiana University 1974.
Professional Athletic Background: Signed with Pittsburgh Pirates 1935; signed with St. Louis Cardinals 1936; played shortstop in Mid-Atlantic and Three-I Baseball League.
