Coaching Experience: Football coach Warren, AR Jr. High 1949; moved up to Warren Sr. High 1950-1952; McGehee, AR, HS assistant coach 1952-1954; assistant coach at Pine Bluff, AR HS 1954-1959; coach at Greentown, IN, Eastern HS 1960-1965, winning 34 consecutive games; University of Arkansas 1966-1969; began the football program at Tri-Central HS and coached 1970-1973; coached football and basketball at Grady HS 1974-1987; retired in 1987.
Coaching Honors: Gridiron Champs of America; high school guest speaker in Kodac Coaches Clinic at Purdue University; set Indiana number of consecutive football wins (since broken by Bloomington, IN); while coaching in AR, won All-Conference; teams played in 2 Space Bowls; coached All-Stars at UAM.
Outstanding Players Coached: Leon Troyer, All-State 1963-1964 and All-Conference; Jim Pickett, Honorable Mention All-State and All-Conference; Alan Durr, Honorable Mention All-State and All-Conference; MIC All-Conference players Dan Cain, Lee Hullinger, Ronnie Swan, Stan Johnson, and Jan David.
