Member of Hinkle's National Champion Basketball Team 1929; played first base for baseball team 1927-1929.
First recipient of Joe Boland Award in 1960; restarted football at the Deaf School in 1934; built football program encompassing 5th grade through high school; smallest school in the state playing football when started in 1934; a major schedule was played with around 50 boys in high school in the 1940's; officiated high school football 1945-1957; officiated college football in the ICC; ISD named new gymnasium in his honor in 1966; inducted into Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame 1972 and Butler Athletic Hall of Fame 1995.
Coaching Experience: Coached Indiana School for the Deaf football team 1934-1961; also coached basketball and track and served as athletic director.

Coaching Honors: School for the Deaf team was National Champions 1945-1946; from 1944 to 1949, team had a record of 39-16.
