All-State football as a tight end in 1974 with 49 receptions, 8 consecutive games with a TD catch and 12 total TD's, and 883 yards; as a 1974 defensive end, had 21 tackles and 20 assists; also played basketball 1971-1975.

Four-year letterman at tight end; Heartland Collegiate Conference Lineman of the Year 1977 and 1978; Conference Player of the Year 1977; team MVP 1978; 2-time First Team All-Conference; set Butler record of 18 TD receptions, is second on all-time list for pass receptions at 137, and seventh in all-time receiving yards with 1,702; received the 1978 Hilton U. Brown Scholar-Athlete Award.
Currently works as a home builder in Michigan.
