In 2017, Chuck was named Indiana's Sportscaster of the Year by the Indiana Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association. Chuck also takes on the challenge of giving back to the community in the form of public service. He is a frequent guest speaker and emcee around town for a variety of charities, including Hannah's House, Christ Child and Reins for Life. He has served for over 20 years as board member for the Women's Care Center. His work has helped raise millions of dollars for local charities. He has served as a coach and umpire at Chet Waggoner Little League and the Inter-City Catholic League.
Chuck and his wife, Diane, have been married over 30 years and are parents of 6 children: Peter, Christopher, Mary, Jeanie, Rosie and T.J.
Chuck is well known for his love of area high school sports. His passion showed for 17 years at WNDU-TV, where Chuck pioneered expanded high school television coverage with "Friday Night Flights" during football season and "Roundball Roundup" for basketball. Now Chuck has served for 18 years as Sports Director at WHME-TV 46 where he calls play-by-play on the high school football and basketball "Game of the Week", various college sports events, and co-hosts the Morning Jumpstart" on Pulse FM. For the last few years, Chuck has been doing double-duty, working his full-time job at WHME, and filling in part-time at WNDU.
