Senior class president; member of National Honor Society; earned 11 sports letters - 4 in basketball and track and 3 in football; football team captain and named All-State; football mythical State Champions 1941; scored 155 points in senior year, a state scoring record at that time; scored 52 points in one game.

Lettered in basketball 1943 and football 1942 and 1946, having served in Air Force during WW II in between.
Only Indiana athlete to be inducted into Indiana Track Hall of Fame, Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, and Indiana Football Hall of Fame; after playing career ended, served as high school teacher and administrator.
Professional Athletic Background: Played for Cleveland Browns 1947-1948 as offensive right halfback and Baltimore Colts as defensive right halfback 1949.

Professional Athletic Honors: Browns won league title 1947 and 1948.

Coaching Experience: Head football coach at Defiance HS, OH, 1950-1951, with 6-12 record; head coach at Fort Wayne Northside 1952-1958, with 35-28 record.
