Won All-Northern Indiana Conference and All-Twin City 1942 and 1943; selected to Second Team All-State 1943.

4-year starter and letterman; played on only undefeated IU Big Ten football championship team in IU history 1945; scoring leader as a freshman wingback 1944; played in 39 of 40 possible games; led team in yards gained and pass reception scoring 1944, 1945; also played defensive halfback; led team in punt and kick-off returns; averaged 7.7 yards in Big Ten play; held IU punt return record for several years; played in 1947 Blue-Gray game and chosen as MVP of Blue squad.
Was a retired Vice-President of the Teachers Credit Union in South Bend, having worked there 1962-1982.
Wife, Anadell; children, Richard, Steven, and Robert.
Professional Athletic Background: Drafted by NFL Pittsburgh Steelers 1948, but suffered a career ending injury in his first season.
