During one Indiana championship play-offs, 3 former players coached teams in the finals - 1973 Mike McGinley, 1974 Bob Springer, 1975 Dick Dullaghan; awarded St. John Bosco Medal by C.Y.O. for contribution to youth in city 1959; received Spes Unica award from Holy Cross Brothers of Notre Dame for outstanding dedication to Cathedral 1970; received Indianapolis Chamber of Commerce Award for outstanding contribution to football in Central Indiana 1974; inducted into Butler Hall of Fame.
