As an offensive lineman, Tom Dixon was never the center of attention on the football field. Dixon was a two-time All-State selection for Bishop Dwenger, helping the Saints to the SAC title and class 3A state championship game his junior year in 1978.
University of Michigan
1984
After High School, the 6'1" 250 pounder attended the University of Michigan, playing for legendary Coach Bo Schembechler from 1980-1983. At center for U of M, Dixon started every game his final three seasons for the Wolverines, was named All-Big 10 twice, and helped Michigan win two Big 10 championships. In his final season in 1983, Dixon was named to the UPI and Kodak All-American teams.
Dixon received a post-graduate scholarship and graduated from Notre Dame Law School.
Tom and his wife Yvette have two children, Alex and Mackenzie.
He was selected by the Michigan Panthers of the USFL, where he played one season. A second-round pick in the 1984 NFL Supplemental Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers, Dixon attended training camp, but a wrist injury which required surgery ultimately led him to conclude his football career.
