Honored to be coached by Hall of Fame coach, Don Bunge; to have been an assistant to Hall of Fame coach, Jim Andrews; to have worked with Hall of Fame team doctor, Dr. Robert Abel; and to have coached Hall of Fame player, Todd Sheets; received the Moose Krause Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame's Moose Krause Contributions to Amateur Football Award in 2006.

Coaching Experience: First coached at Wakarusa MS 1969; coached Northwood freshman teams 1970-1971; Northwood varsity assistant coach under Jim Andrews for next 20 years; became head coach at Northwood in 1992; as head coach, 169-50 record, a 77.1 win percentage; total of 40 years coaching football at Northwood; retired after the 2008 season.

Coaching Honors: 2009 North All-Star head coach; 1994 North All-Star coach; 1993 and 2005 South Bend Tribune Jim Andrews Memorial Coach of the Year Award; Region 2 3A Coach of the Year 1992, 1993, 1996-2001, 2003, 2005, 2008; Bloomington Herald-Times 2005 3A Coach of the Year; won 7 NLC Conference Championships; 10 Sectional Championships, 7 Regional Championships, 4 Semi-State Championships, 3 runner-up State Finalists, and 1 State Championship in 2005; 29 consecutive NLC wins and 39 consecutive regular season wins 1992-1997; 1994 team ranked #1 in final poll.
