Coach Dean Doerffler graduted from Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne in 1973. he attended Ball State University before beginning his career in educational-based athletics at Northrop High School in Fort Wayne. Coach Doerffler became the head football coach at Northrop high school in Fort Wayne in 1984. He would lead the Bruins through the 1993 season compiling a 57-39 record. Coach Doerfller also served as the Northrop Athletic Directod from 1993-1999. In 1999 he went home to Concordia Lutheran High School in Fort Wayne where he would serve as the athletic director from 1999-2017. Coach Doerfller would lead the Concordia Football team from 2001-2009. During his time as the football coach at Concordia, the school win win its first sectional titles in 2002 and 2007 and the school's first regional titles in the same years. He was named the SAC Coach of the year in 2001. Coach Doerffler's career record is 109-93 over-all. Dean Doerffler's twin brother, Dale was also inducted into the HOF on July 17, 2023. Their older brother Buzz is also a member of the hall of fame.
