Active in Notre Dame Club of Northwest Indiana and Munster Rotary Club; serves on Sportsmanship Committee of Northwest Indiana; serves on Indiana Deparment of Education Concussion Advisory Board and IDoE Sudden Cardiac Arrest Advisory Board; speaker at state and national level on sports concussions.

Merit Contributor - Athletic Trainer: Licensed physical therapist and athletic trainer; student athletic trainer, ND, 1977-1981; served as staff athletic trainer at Notre Dame and Purdue Calumet in Hammond; since 1985 has served as head athletic trainer at Munster High School; began Doherty Therapeutic & Sports Medicine in Munster 1986; was a partner in Midwest Center for Concussion Care 2007-2012; since 2011 has served as coordinator/director of Munster Community Hospital Concussion Clinic.
Professional Honors: At Munster HS has been on staff for 4A State Baseball Champions (2002), 4A Baseball Final 4 (2001, 2002, 2006, 2010), 4A Basketball Final 4 (2009, 2011), and 4A Football Final 4 (1986); served as North Team ATC for 2004 and 2010 North-South All-Star games; received IATA's 2013 Joe Harvey Distinguished Service Award.
