Quarterbacked team to perfect 10-0 record and #3 state ranking 1970; team had 21 consecutive wins; played on three undefeated teams 1967, 1969, 1970; team Most Valuable Back, NIVC All-Conference, All-State, and recipient of Notre Dame Football Club Award 1970; starting quarterback North All-Star Team which defeated South 1971; record holder in career passing percentage .531; named most improved player in basketball 1971; in track, member of sectional champion mile relay team, school record mile relay team, and 10-1 dual meets in open 440 yard dash, all in 1971; member of National Honor Society, student council, and honor roll; recruited by over 50 colleges; athletic and academic performance earned him a Congressional appointment to United State Air Force Academy, but enrolled in Yale University.

Team captain and MVP of undefeated freshman football team in 1971; starting quarterback 1972-1974, with 21-6 record; helped team to a second place Ivy League finish 1972 and Ivy League Championship 1974 with 8-1 record; led Yale in scoring, total offense, and passing leader 1973; earned All-Ivy (2nd team) and All-East (1st team) honors 1974; for 25 years, Yale record holder for most total offense (268 yards) and most passing yards (237) in 120+ year history of Yale-Harvard games.
After graduating law school, entered private practice of law; senior partner in environmental law practice group of Pierce Atwood in Portland, Maine; highlighted as a leading environmental attorney by Best Lawyers in America, by Chambers USA: America's Lawyers for Business, and by New England Super Lawyers; has achieved the highest professional rating (AV) awarded by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and is the recipient of James River Corporation's Bronze Key Award for Environmental Achievement.
