Coaching Experience: Assistant coach in football, basketball, and track and field at La Porte HS 1959-1963; assistant and head track coach, assistant football coach for 9 years at Elkhart HS 1963-1972; team was 1969 State Track Champs; coached running backs in 1963, 1968 and won state football finals in 1968; coached at Elkhart Memorial beginning in 1972; 27 years as head track coach at EMHS; coached football at Memorial for 26 years, coaching running backs and linebackers; assistant football coach for 41 years, which includes coaching La Porte, Elkhart HS, and Elkhart Memorial.
Coaching Honors: His teams have won 3 State Championships in 1963, 1968, 1970; 7 Conference Championships - LaPorte 1, Elkhart 4, and Elkhart Memorial 2; 1 Sectional Championship in 1997 at Elkhart Memorial.
