At Muncie Central, Eddie was a running back and safety. In 1994 and 95, he was the leading rusher in East Central Indiana. In 1995, Eddie was the Region 5 Player of the Year, was First Team All-State at running back, a Mr. Football Finalist, East Central Indiana Player of the Year (Muncie Star / Muncie Evening Press), All North Central Conference and in 1996, he participated in the North/South All-Star Game. He also was a State Champion in the 4 x 4 Relay and a Top 5 in the 100 Meter and 200 Meter in the State Finals.

At the University of Wisconsin, Eddie was a Two-time Big Ten and Rose Bowl Champion and a Four-year Letterwinner. He participated in the 1996 Copper Bowl, 1997 Outback Bowl, 1998-99 Rose Bowl, 1999-2000 Rose Bowl, and the 2000 Sun Bowl. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Inc. - Beta Omicron Chapter.
Eddie played tailback for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2001, and the Edmonton Eskimos in 2002. Eddie is the Founder and Operator of Team Faulk Youth Development Camp held in Muncie, Indiana at Muncie Central High School.
He is married to Anissa Faulkner and together they have three children, Eddie Faulkner IV, Madison Faulkner and Xavier Faulkner.
Eddie started his illustrious coaching career in 2002 at Anerson University as running backs coach. In 2003, he became an Administrative Assistant at Ball State. From 2003-2005 he served as a Graduate Assistant at B.S.U. In 2005, he was named running backs coach at Ball State, a position he held until 2009, when he was named Offensive Coordinator. In 2010, He was the Special Teams Coordinator/Running Backs coach at Northern Illinois University. In 2011, he was the running backs coach at the University of Pittsburgh. He was the tight ends coach in 2012 at the University of Wisconsin. In 2013 - 2019, he was the Special Teams Coordinator/ Tight Ends and Fullbacks coach at North Carolina State University. From 2019 to Present, he is the Running Backs coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers. During his coaching career, he has coached in; the Gator Bowl, Sun Bowl, Independence Bowl, Belk Bowl, Bitcoin Bowl, Rose Bowl, Go Daddy Bowl, GMAC Bowl, and the International Bowl.
