3-year football letterman; Academic All-American 1962 and 1963; named to All-Big Ten Team 1962; played in East-West Shrine Game, Hula Bowl, and College All-Star Game.
After retiring from NFL, began his own business, Flatley Temporary Services, which he sold in 1996; was a broadcaster for WCCO Radio doing pregame and postgame shows 1971-1990; was an analyst for University of Minnesota football 1983-1997; inducted into the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame September 21, 2011.
Three daughters; eight grandchildren.
Professional Athletic Background: Minnesota Vikings 1963-1967; Atlanta Falcons 1968-1970; NFL Rookie of the Year 1963; played in Pro Bowl 1967; career totals - played 106 games with 306 receptions; gained 4,905 yards with averages of 16.0 yards per reception and 24 touchdowns; retired from NFL after the 1970 season.
