Medical doctor with the Navy 1963-1965; in mid 1970's, he and other community leaders raised funds and built a YWCA where fitness, swimming, and other programs were established in 1977; he established the PACE program for lifestyle modifications for cardiac patients with an emphasis on physical fitness; has run 3 Boston Marathons and 5 Chicago Marathons; still runs nearly every day.
Merit Contributor - Team Physician: Team physician for Chesterton HS since 1965; has served over the years at both home and away games; even after he began residency at Rush Medical College in Chicago to become a cardiologist, he continued to provide medical services for the school corporation.
