Played football 4 years as a quarterback and halfback, lettering 3, and was 4th highest scorer in Big Ten one year.
Served in US Coast Guard during WW II 1942-1946 and held rank as Captain-Retired at time of his induction; served as Whiting HS principal 1956-1966 and Superintendent of Whiting Schools 1966-1968.

Coaching Experience: Head coach at Whiting HS 1928-1942 and 1946-1955; 26 year career with record of 118-66-21; also coached basketball, swimming, and baseball at Whiting; retired from coaching in 1955.

Coaching Honors: 2 mythical State Championships - 1948 and 1954; 4 Northern Indiana Western Conference Championships; 2 Northern Indiana Conference Championships in 1933 and 1934.
