Named to Hanover College Athletic Hall of Fame in 2003; was the subject of 2009 book The Geesman Game authored by long-time assistant and friend, Wes Doi; played semi-pro football with Calumet City in 1967.

Coaching Experience: Assistant coach at Rensselaer HS 1962-1967; head coach at Kenton, OH, HS 1968-1972, with a 29-18-3 record; head coach at Penn HS 1973-2002, with a 310-48 record, an 86.6 win percentage.

Coaching Honors: At Kenton, team placed 18th in state with a school record of 30.4 points per game; at Penn, had 16 undefeated regular seasons and a state record 89 game regular season win streak (1985-1996); won 5 State Championships 1983, 1995, 1996, 1997, 2000; team was State Runner-up 1989, 1991, 1999; won 22 Northern Indiana Conference Championships; named Nike National Coach of the Year in 1995; posted an overall coaching record of 339-66-3, third highest total in Indiana prior to retirement from coaching after the 2002 season.
