Professional Athletic Honors: All-American Conference Rookie Lineman of the Year and Second Team All-Pro Guard 1949; while with Cleveland, was All-Pro 3 years and played in 5 Pro Bowl Games; overall, played in 6 championship games with a record of 3-3.

Coaching Experience: 1960-1964 offensive and defensive line coach at Washington Redskins; 1965-1971 offensive and defensive line coach, then head coach 1972-1974 of Chicago Bears; head coach of Chicago Winds of WFL 1975; defensive coordinator for Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1976-1984.
