Won 10 varsity letters - 3 in football, 3 in basketball, and 4 in track; held NIHS 100 yard dash record for 20 years; held record for most touchdowns in one game (4), most touchdowns in a season (17), longest punt return (73 yards), longest run from scrimmage (93 yards), longest kick-off return (98 yards), and most reception yards in a season; All-Conference and All-State 1953, 1954; received football scholarship to Purdue University.
