Coaching Experience: Junior varsity head coach and assistant quarterback coach at Mishawaka Marian 1967; offensive coordinator at Indianapolis Ritter 2 years, then head coach 8 years; head coach at Franklin Community HS 4 years; head freshman/assistant varsity coach at Roncalli 3 years; assistant coach of defensive backs at Franklin College for 14 years; also served as a head wrestling coach for 11 years with a dual meet record of 111-43, and as a head baseball coach 7 years with a record of 141-53.

Coaching Honors: State Champions at Indianapolis Ritter 1977; assistant coach of State Champions at Roncalli 1985; Indiana South All-Star Coach 1980; District Coach of the Year 1980; Kellogg Coach of the Year; Bloomington Herald-Telephone Coach of the Year; Johnson County Coach of the Year 1978, 1980, 1981.

Outstanding Players Coached: Chuck Schwanekamp, Joe Metallic, Ken Israel, Mike Pinnick, Andy Woods, Terry Taphorn, Mike Purichia, Ron Doyle, Harry Dunn, Addison Simpson, Joe Pfennig, Tom Collins, and Clayton Cowling; assistant coaches who became head coaches - Mike McClure (Franklin College), Rick Cannon (Redan, GA), Terry Taphorn (Speedway), Rick Carrico (Ritter), John Wirtz (Roncalli), and Dave Gandolph (Center Grove).
