Taught business courses at Kokomo HS for 35 years; served as athletic director at Kokomo High School after coaching career ended 1972-1984; retired from school corporation in 1987; spent 17 summers as manager of Seashore Swimming Pool in Kokomo; was a fourth degree member of Knights of Columbus, Eagles Lodge, and past-president of Indiana Football Coaches Association; inducted into Indiana Wrestling Hall of Fame in 1986.
Wife, Mary Elizabeth; daughters, Laura (deceased), Elizabeth "Libby" and Nancy (Ronald); sons, Robert (Nancy) and Terence (Deborah; 3 grandchildren and a stepgranddaughter.
Coaching Experience: Assistant football coach at Kokomo HS 1950-1955; head football coach at Kokomo 1955-1981; record of 147-109-9; head wrestling coach for 30 seasons with 2 state runner-up finishes and a record of 90-26-6; also coached tennis 8 years, golf 12 years, baseball 3 years, and basketball 1 year; won NCC titles in tennis and golf; retired from coaching in 1981.

Coaching Honors: NCC Coach of the Year 1978; won 6 North Central Conference crowns - 1955, 1957, 1960, 1961, 1964, 1965; 1957 and 1964 teams were unbeaten and untied; 1964 team was mythical state champion.
