Played one year of freshman football and three years varsity football under the immortal Knute Rockne; was a member of the Four Horsemen in fall of 1924, which was undefeated in 10 games; went on to defeat Stanford University in Rose Bowl with a score of 27-10 and were declared National Champions.
Was chosen Indiana Athletic Director of the Year 1973-1974 seasons; officiated college and high school football games for 27 years; President of Notre Dame Club of Kentucky 1957-1958; chosen Notre Dame Man of the Year in State of Kentucky 1958; was Athletic Director at Chatard High School in Indianapolis for 10 years, retiring in 1974.
Coaching Experience: Head coach at St. Xavier HS 1925-1942; head coach of football, basketball, and baseball at Cathedral 1938-1942; won City Football Championship in Indianapolis in 1940.
