Anthony was selected Kiwanis/Indianapolis Star All-County First Team in both 1988 and 1989. In 1988, he was a Bloomington-Herald Top 50. He was AP and UPI First-Team All-State in both his junior and senior years. He was voted Team Captain and Most Valuable Player as a senior in 1989. In 1990, he was named Parade and Sporting News High School All-American. Anthony was also an outstanding heavyweight wrestler. As a junior, he was Sectional and Regional Champion and qualified for the State Meet. In his senior year, Anthony was the Marion County Tournament Champion, Sectional and Regional Champion and placed 5th in the State Meet. He was voted Team Captain and Most Valuable Wrestler.

Anthony was a four-year starter at the University of Michigan. He was selected UPI Freshman All-American in 1991. In 1992 and 1994 he was AP and UPI All-Big Ten on the defensive line. In 1992, he became a member of the prestigious University of Michigan "Victors" Club. That year, he was awarded the Frederick C. Mattahaei Award. During his college career, Anthony placed in four bowl games: two Rose Bowls (1992 & 1993), the Hall of Fame Bowl (1994) and the Holiday Bowl (1995).
After graduation, Anthony played in the Arena Football League from 1996-2004. In 1996, he was the AFL All-Rookie First Team Lineman. In 1997, he was a member of the World Champion Arizona Rattlers. From 2001-2006, he was the "head union representative" of the Arena Football League Players Association. When he retired, he was the career sack and fumble recovery leader for the Arizona Rattlers and Chicago Rush.
Anthony began his coaching career as a defensive line coach at North Central in 2002. He has coached at Warren Central, Ft. Wayne Fusion, T.C. Howe, John Marshall, Arsenal Tech, and Ben Davis. Currently, he is the Head Coach at Purdue Poly Englewood .
