Lettered in football, basketball, and track; played on 1966 State Championship football team; set state records in 100-yard and 220-yard dash; played on 1964-1965 State Basketball Championship team.

2-year football letterman as a defensive back; played on 1967 Big Ten championship team that played in 1968 Rose Bowl; 4-year track and field letterman; 2-time All-American in the 440-yard relay; still holds second fastest 100-yard dash record (9.3 seconds) in program history.
After retiring from professional football, became a teacher at South Gwinnett High School in Snellville, Georgia, and coached track.
