Graig played for legendary coach, John Lidy. His senior season (1992) was cut short by a knee injury, playing in only six games. He was the 1992 Kiwanis Mental Attitude Award winner, honorable mention All-State, voted to the region 9 All-Star Team and participated in the 1993 North/South All-Star game. He earned a scholarship to the University of Louisville.

At Louisville, Graig played for legendary Head Coach Howard Schnellenberger. He was a four-year letterman, starting 36 straight games as an offensive lineman. He played in the 1993 Liberty Bowl where they defeated Michigan State University on their way to a number 12 ranking in the final AP Poll. In 1997, he was named Team Captain, All-Conference, Academic All-Conference (an honor he earned in 1996, as well) and voted the 1996-97 University of Louisville Scholar Athlete of the Year.
Graig, was a Boston Marathon Finisher in 2007.
Graig and his wife, Jennifer have two children, Makenna and Gabe.
Graig has a 25-year (1998 - present) career in NASCAR with Speedway Motorsports at Bristol Motor Speedway and North Wilkesboro Speedway. In 2016, Bristol Motor Speedway hosted the World's Largest College Football Game between the University of Tennessee and Virginia Tech with over 156,990 fans in attendance, certified by Guiness Book of Records. In 2023, North Wilkesboro Speedway hosted the NASCAR All-Star Race at the historic racing facility after the track had been dormant for 30 years.
