Serving on the IFCA Board of Directors, IFHF Committee Past Presidents, Region 1 IFHF Chairman, IFCA Service Awards Chairman, IFCA Rating Board/Chairman 5A, IFCA All-State Board and Colts All-Academic Advisory Board; President of the IFCA in 1985, First Vice-President in 1984, and Second Vice-President in 1983.
Coaching Experience: Head football coach at Valparaiso HS for last 34 years; was head coach at Connersville for 1 year and assistant coach at Valparaiso HS for 4 years; also coached track at both schools; record at Connersville was 2-8; record at Valparaiso is 234-145 as of the 2010 season.
Coaching Honors: Received IFCA President’s Award in 1996; 5A Coach of the year in 1985, 1986, 1989, 1991, 1997, 2000, 2001, and 2010; Indianapolis Colts Coach of the Week in 2000, 2005, 2008, and 2010; his teams were State Runner-up 2 times, Semi-State Champions 2 times, Final Four appearance 6 times, Sectional Champs 9 times, Conference Champs 6 times, Sweet Sixteen appearance 14 times, and ranked Top Ten in State 20 years.
