While playing professionally, he hosted the "PM Magazine Show" on television and the "Gerald Irons Sports Report" on radio; named Man of the Year by Cleveland Jaycees; served as a national television spokesman for United Way; received Gary's "Outstanding Garyite Award" and a day was named in his honor; named one of "Ten Outstanding People in the World" by Osaka, Japan's Junior Chamber of Commerce; serves as Vice-President of Business Development with The Woodlands Development Company in Woodland, Texas, a 30,000 acre master planned community; vice-president of Colliers International; has given productivity improvement presentations to numerous companies; graduate of Houston FBI Citizens Academy; recently retired after 22 years serving the Conroe Independent School District Board of Trustees, where a new school was named in his honor, the Gerald D. Irons, Sr. Junior High School; elder and founding member of the Impact Church of the Woodlands.

Professional Athletic Background: Played linebacker for 10 years in NFL, with 6 years with Oakland Raiders and 4 years with Cleveland Browns.

Professional Athletic Honors: Voted team captain by teammates; received several Golden Helmet Awards; named an Oakland Raiders Legend; listed among the 100 Greatest Cleveland Browns of all time.
