Coaching Honors: Football teams won 9 conference, 13 sectional, 7 regional, 3 semi-state championships; Class 5A State Champions 1992; Indiana nominee for AFCA National Coach of the Year Award 2008; Wishbone Coaches Association Coach of the Year 2004; Conference Coach of the Year 2008, 1998, 1997, 1994, 1992; Indiana Coach of the Year 1992; assistant All-Star coach 1993 and head coach 1997; wrestling teams won 6 invitational, 7 conference, 7 sectional, and 2 regional championships; were State Champions once and runner-up 3 times; Area Wrestling Coach of the Year 1983.
