Earned 3 letters in football, 3 in basketball, and 3 in track; UPI All-State and All-Conference 2 years in football as a quarterback; All-Conference and All-State as a guard in basketball; finished 4th in pole vault at the state meet; named team MVP in football, basketball, and track 1965-1966.

Two-time All-Big Ten selection; led Big Ten in punting 1967 and rushing 1969; helped Hoosiers win Big Ten title; appeared in Rose Bowl game 1968; Sporting News All-American; played in Hula Bowl All-Star Game, Coaches All-American Game, East-West Game, and College All-Star Game in Chicago in 1970; won the L.G. Balfour Award for excellence in athletics, school citizenship, and scholastic endeavor.
Began a career as a sales representative after retiring from professional football.
