Toby helped lead Scecina to two consecutive state football titles in 1990 and 1991. After a couple of unlike Scecina years, Toby Jacobs, as an impact player, led Scecina to back-to-back state football titles in 1990 and 1991. Toby was a tough running back in 1990 and was a savvy quarterback in 1991, who led the Crusaders to become the top of their class. In 1992, he was named the Bloomington Herald State Athlete of the Year.
Toby also played basketball and baseball, where he lettered 3 years in each. At the conclusion of his senior year, he was selected as the Indianapolis City Athlete of the Year.

Toby played four years at Butler and served as captain of the Bulldogs.
Toby and his wife, Jennifer have three children: Sam, Jack and Maggie.
After graduating from Butler, Toby began his coaching career at Hamilton Southeastern and has continued coaching at Mt. Vernon where, as offensive coordinator, he helped lead them to the 2021 4A State Championship. Toby has been an active member of the IFCA, serving as its President.
