Played 3 years as halfback; All-State and All-Conference 1958 and 1959; team won NCC 1958; outstanding wrestler.

Serves as a liaison between the Indiana Football Coaches Association and the Indiana Football Hall of Fame; serves on the Board of Directors of IFHOF and is currently Vice-President of the Board; refereed in State Wrestling Finals 1982 and 1983.
Wife, Patricia; two sons, Scott and Kenny (both deceased).
Coaching Experience: Football coach at Centerville HS 6 years, 3 years as head coach, and a record of 17-9; Wawasee HS assistant football coach and wrestling coach 3 years; Winchester HS head football coach 6 years, with a 35-13 record; became assistant football coach at Richmond HS in 1978, then moved to head coach 1981-1988, with a record of 57-26, including his 100th win against Marion; retired from coaching at end of 1988 season after 25 years with a combined record of 109-48; also served as wrestling coach 6 years at Centerville with a 51-25-2 dual meet record.
Coaching Honors: Won Tri-Eastern Conference in football at Centerville in 1969 and in wrestling 3 years; won Tri-Eastern Conference in football at Winchester several times; won North Central Conference in 1985; teams were ranked #1 in Indiana several times, including 1985 when team ended season ranked #2 in state; NCC Coach of the Year 1985; Area Coach of the Year 1982 and 1985.
Outstanding Players Coached: John Cook and Phil Dunnington at Centerville; Gerry Keesling, Aaron Zell, Tim Passmore, Bernie Fraze, Thad Abel, and Dave Poucher at Winchester; Bart Denning, Tim Cornett, John Brown, Todd and Perry Irwin, Shawn Hogg, Marty Noufer, Greg Reed, Doug Holok, Greg Lyons, and Pierre Hogg at RHS.
