25-year member of the Indiana High School Officials Association; co-author of many books; served 17 years as Washington's principal; GWCHS auditorium was named after him.
Wife, Elizabeth "Betty" (deceased); son, Bill; daughter, Joanne; granddaughter, Erin; great-grandsons, Brooks, Will, and Miles.
Coaching Experience: 2-year head coach at Austin High School in all sports; freshman head coach at Indianapolis George Washington HS; basketball coach at NATTC in Memphis, TN; coached in the military during World War II.

Coaching Honors: During coaching at NATTC in Memphis, basketball team included Fred Schaus, Purdue Coach, and John Oldham, Athletic Director of Western Kentucky; coached several state champs in track and developed fine high school basketball players at George Washington HS; cooperated with Henry Bogue, head football coach at George Washington HS.

Officiating Career: Refereed high school football throughout Indiana for about 20 years; refereed in all schools in Marion County and all schools in Terre Haute area; worked in North Central Conference and in South Central Conference; head linesman for Frank Luzar's collegiate team, working in the Indiana Conference and the Hoosier Conference; was head linesman for Frank Baird's team in Indiana collegiate games after Luzar went to the Big 10.
