Inducted into the Order of AHEPA Hellenic Football Hall of Fame in 1984; inducted into Gary Sports Hall of Fame 1985; received Pittsburgh Bicentennial Sports Award 1985; Breitbard Athletic Foundation Special Award in 1957; with a gifted voice, performed in Gary Music Theatre and elsewhere; served as a Gary City Councilman 1972-1980; taught and coached in the Hammond Public Schools and also coached at Andrean, St. Xavier, and Rose-Hulman.

Professional Athletic Background: Played football with the US Marines in San Diego Marine Base; voted Most Valuable Player in Marines; beginning in 1958 played 2 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers; played 5 years with the Chicago Bears and was starting guard for the 1963 World Champion Bears; traded to Detroit Lions in 1965; played for LA Rams in 1966.

Coaching Experience: Taught at and coached in the Hammond Public Schools for 20 years; retired, then returned to help his son, Ted, Jr., coach football at Andrean HS in 1995; Andrean won 3A football Sectional, Regional, Semi-State and became runner-up to State Champions in 1997 with Ted, Sr. and second son, Jeffery, as assistant coaches.
