Served as Vice-President of Indiana Football Coaches Association in 1976, becoming president in 1977; named Athletic Director of Blackford HS in 1978; served in US Army between high school and college, playing on Army football team; selected to All-Army team.
Wife, Patricia; children, Joseph and Elizabeth.
Coaching Experience: Head football coach at Madison HS, OH, 1959-1964, with 17-10 record; coach at Hartford City 1964-1969, with 13-32-2 record; coach at Blackford HS, then with consolidation, continued to coach at Hartford City until 1977, with 63-22-1 record and undefeated team in 1974.
Coaching Honors: CIC Sportswriters Coach of the Year twice; Bloomington-Herald-Telephone Class AA Coach of the Year 1974; Coaches Association Championship Coach of the Year 1974-1975; North head coach for North-South All-Star game 1975.
