Served as a physical education/business teacher at each high school; continued winning ways in Michigan with a record of 90-22 at Pioneer; team won 2 State Big School Championships (Class A in MI) 1984 and 1987.

Coaching Experience: Coach at Johnny Appleseed Middle School, Mansfield, OH, 1972-1973; defensive coordinator at Penn HS (Mishawaka) 1973-1978; head coach Blackford HS (Hartford City) 1978-1980; head coach Pioneer HS (Ann Arbor, MI) 1980-1990; defensive backs coach Adrian College (MI) in early 1990s and quarterback specialist 1997-2003.
Coaching Honors: In 5 years as defensive coordinator at Penn, team went 5-5, 8-2, 10-1, 8-2, and 7-3, with a total of 13 shut-outs, and beginning of Penn's 5 State Championships and 7 State Runner-up finishes; at Blackford, went 13-0 in second year and won the 1979 Class 2A State Championship; IFCA Coach of the Year 1979.
