Co-captain and All-State Tackle 1947; played in 1945-1947 championship games; played in 31 consecutive games without a loss.

Played in Orange Bowl 1949 and Sugar Bowl in 1950, defeating Oklahoma 13-7 and stopping a winning streak of 34 games; played in Cotton Bowl in 1951; career interrupted by military service where he played football at Camp Atterbury in 1953.
Served 11 years as member of United Press International Football Rating Board (1964-1974); served as Director of Recreation for School City of East Chicago.

Professional Athletic Background: Played briefly with Montreal Alouettes until injuries sidelined him as a player.
Coaching Experience: Coached Ft. Carson, CO, 1954; freshman coach at East Chicago Roosevelt 1956, line coach 1957-1963, and head coach 1964-1974, with record of 74-24-4; retired from coaching in 1975.
Coaching Honors: Won Lake Shore Conference 6 times and tied once out of 11 years; assistant coach of North All-Star Team 1975.
Outstanding Players Coached: Bill Knox, Purdue and Chicago Bears; Fred Rafa, Purdue; Andy Wogdula, Wisconsin; Leroy Marsh, Augustana; and Ed Lukawski, Harvard.
