1985 Brian Bullard Memorial Award, MVP; 4-year letter winner; team won 4 straight Bowl games; participant of the most successful senior class in school history with a 38-12 record; starter for 12 win season, 12-1 record, ranked 5th in nation 1985; team leader; one of leading tacklers; 3-year starter at outside linebacker.
Commissioned in 1986; commands include Fighter Squadron, an Air Expeditionary Group, an Operations Group, and the 51st Fighter Wing, Osan Air Base, Republic of Korea; staff experience includes 2 tours in 13th Air Force, with last as Vice commander; has served as Director of Programs and Analyses, Headquarters Pacific Air Forces, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii; served as a command pilot with more than 3,500 flying hours in the A-10A/C Thunderbolt II; currently Commander of 455th Air Expeditionary Wing, Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan, responsible for executing air support, air mobility, combat search and rescue, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, and electronic attack operations in support of US Coalition and partner forces in Afghanistan; awarded Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star with two oak leaf clusters, Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Air Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Aerial Achievement Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, and Kuwait Liberation Medal from Government of Kuwait.
