Leroy was a 4-sport athlete at East Chicago Roosevelt. He was named 1st team All-State lineman; 1st team Football All-Area and All-Conference; 1st team Westling All-Area; team captain in football and also participated in Baseball and Track. He was a recipient of many school, scholastic, and civic awards.

-Leroy was a 4-year starter at Augustana College from 1968-72. He was named Team Captain and was an All-Conference player and Small College All-American. He also wrestled at Augustana.
For over 35 years, Leroy and his wife, Jamie have organized the "Mustang Toy Round-up" which annually donates Christmas gifts to hundreds of Region families in need. Coach Marsh is truly a hall of fame person. Thank you, Leroy, for your decades of leadership and influence on MHS athletics and the Munster Community.
Wife: Jamie, Sons, Ryan (deceased) and Christopher (deceased). Coach Marsh had the pleasure of coaching his son Christopher for 4 years at Munster High School. He also had the pleasure of coaching his grandson Patrick, who represented Munster in the 50th Anniversary North-South All-Star game in 2016.
Coach Leroy Marsh arrived at Munster in 1973 as an assistant on legendary Coach John Friend's football staff. 46 years later, Coach Marsh is still at Munster High School. Coach Marsh's remarkable career as head football coach spanned 38 seasons, coaching over 1,000 players and winning 228 games and five sectionals. Coach Marsh was also the winning head coach of the 2007 All-Star game. Once taking the reins in 1980 at Munster High School, Leroy carried on the proud tradition of Mustang Football, cementing the program as one of the most respected, not only in the Calumet Region, but the entire state of Indiana.
His 1986 team defeated state power Hobart to win the regional championship before losing to eventual state champion DeKalb 14-6 in the semi-state. Leroy was selected as an Indiana North All-Star Coach five times and served as the Indiana Football Coaches Association Region 1 Advisor for over 25 years. In 2007, Coach Marsh was inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame. In addition to football, Leroy also coached wrestling for seven seasons. Coach Marsh always produced quality, competitive teams, but produced even higher quality young men, preaching discipline, respect, character and integrity.
