Served in the U.S. Army during World War II; was associated with the Denver Broncos of the National Football League as a scout since 1980; after leaving IU, joined the staff of Ara Parseghian Enterprises; awarded an honorary monogram in 1997 by ND Monogram Club; speaker/lecturer at numerous clinics and classes; active member of American Football Coaches Association and Indiana High School Coaches Association.
Wife, Margaret; children, Monica (deceased), Mary (deceased), Ramona, Robin, Terry (Edel), and Tony (Pam); 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.
Coaching Experience: Coached at St. John's HS, Maria Stein, OH, 1956, with 14-9 record; Marion Township HS, Maria Stein, OH, 1957-1958, with 17-6-4 record; assistant coach at South Bend St. Joseph’s HS 1958; became head football coach a year later; 1964 team was Indiana Mythical Champions; St. Joe teams posted a 48-15-5 1959-1965; freshman coach at University of Notre Dame under Ara Parseghian 1966-1968, going undefeated in three seasons; assistant varsity coach 1969-1974; Notre Dame had a record of 55-10-1; ND captured three of five post-season major bowl games, playing in 1969 Cotton Bowl, 1970 Cotton Bowl, 1972 Orange Bowl, 1973 Sugar Bowl, and 1974 Orange Bowl; National Champions 1974; when Parseghian retired after the 1974 season, Moore joined the Indiana University staff as offensive line coach for the 1975 and 1976 seasons; served IU two more years as associate athletic director.
Coaching Honors: Named St. Joseph's Valley Coach of the Year 1961-1963; National High School Coach of the Year 1963; Indiana High School Coach of the Year 1964; inducted into the St. Joseph's College Football Hall of Fame 1973; coached in Orange Bowl 1974
