Coaching Experience: Assistant football coach at Fountain Central 1981; head coach at Lakeland HS 1982-1986 with a 40-11 record; head coach at Bloomington South HS 1987-2001 with a 143-31 record, then returned to Bloomington South 2013 to present; tight ends coach at Indiana University 2002-2004 and offensive line coach 2010; head coach at Carmel HS 2005-2009; head coach at Salem HS 2011-2012; career record as a high school coach of 273-82 in 31 years coaching at time of his induction. Coaching Honors: In first stint at SBHS, won 10 Conference Championships, 7 Sectionals, 6 Regionals, 3 Semi-States, and Class 5A State Championship 1993 and 1998; in 2010, had #1 pass offense in Big Ten and tied for fewest sacks given up in Big Ten and #14 nationally; won sectionals and regionals as well as Class 6A State Championship 2007 at Carmel and was State Runner-up 3 times.
