Merit - Athletic Trainer
Charter Member of the National Athletic Trainers Association; member of the Helms Foundation Hall of Fame; Silver Medal Award winner from the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame; received Sports Magazine Award for Outstanding Community Service in Athletics; wrote a column RX-Sports Medicine" in Indiana News; in 1964 became one of the first athletic trainers to work in a clinical setting; inducted into the NATA Hall of Fame in 1969."
Merit Contributor - Athletic Trainer: Licensed physical therapist; student trainer at Butler University 1933-1937; assistant trainer at Butler 1937-1956; head trainer at Butler 1956-1964; private practice in physical therapy 1956-1964; returned to Butler as head trainer in 1964 and was still in that capacity at time of induction; was assistant trainer for the National College All-Star Team in football and Indiana High School All-Stars in basketball for 18 years; assisted coaches and athletes from high schools statewide with problems related to injuries.
