Played end, tackle, and guard and served as captain of Wabash football team; played on unbeaten 1921 Washington & Jefferson team that was Eastern Representative in 1922 Rose Bowl Game; named All-American in 1921.
Served as Athletic Director and PE department head at DePauw 1946-1954; became postmaster in Greencastle, IN, after retiring from DePauw; inducted into the Wabash College Athletic Hall of Fame 1984 and the DePauw Athletic Hall of FAme 1986; 1933 team members raised funds to build the Neal Fieldhouse on the DePauw campus and dedicated it in his honor in 1982.
Professional Athletic Background: Played with Akron, IN, Pros 1922, Kokomo American League 1923; and, Hammond Pros of the old NFL 1924-1926.

Coaching Experience: Line coach at Wabash 1927-1928; line coach at DePauw University 1929; served as DePauw's head coach 1930-1945, with a record of 79-34-7 overall; retired from coaching in 1946.

Coaching Honors: 1933 DePauw Tigers were undefeated, untied, and unscored on, the nation's last college football team to accomplish this feat; 1933 team outscored their opponents 136-0 and had a 7-0 record.
