Dwayne earned three varsity letters and started both his junior and senior seasons. He was selected to the All-Northern Lakes Conference and the All-State Team, both his junior and senior years. Dwayne was respected by his teammates and coaches and was rewarded by being elected Captain his senior year. While at Concord, he had 96 career receptions, 21 touch downs, and almost 1500 career yards while playing tight end. He was able to cap off a great high school football career, when he was selected to play in the 1986 Indiana Football North-South All Star game. Dwayne also excelled in Basketball and Track. In Basketball he was once again elected Captain his senior year, while receiving All-Conference honors in both his junior and senior years. In Basketball he was the leading rebounder and had the best shooting percentage. Dwayne was also successful in Track, running both the high and low hurtles. He won the MVP award and was the leading point scorer his sophomore, junior, and senior
years. Capping off his Concord career, he received 9 Varsity letters. He also received the U.S. Army Athlete of the Year for academics, leadership, and
athletics.
Purdue University
Upon graduation, he earned a Football Scholarship to attend Purdue University. He earned 4 Varsity letters, while starting two years as tight end.
He was also a Red Mackey Award winner, given for Academic, Athletic, and Leadership. With his outstanding work ethic, he received the Offensive
Weightlifter of the Year award his junior and senior years. After completing his college career, he was selected to play in the Senior Bowl.
During his playing days at Purdue, he had 43 career receptions, 507 career yards, and two touch downs.
He also has been inducted into the Concord Hall of Fame and the Elkhart County Athletic Hall of Fame.
Today Dwayne lives in Carmel, Indiana, with his wife Debbie of 24 years. They have been blessed with two children; Michael 21 years old
and Olivia 19 years old.
After his days at Purdue, he signed a free agent contract with the Indianapolis Colts. He was able to play in two pre-season games. He later signed a free agent contract with the Tiger Cats of the Canadian Football League
