Assistant principal at Merrillville; principal at Bluffton HS; assistant middle school principal at Shenandoah; retired from education in 2001, then assisted with football team for son, Kevin, at McCutcheon; currently serving as an assistant at Lafayette Central Catholic HS, with team winning State Championships in 2009 and 2010; served with Coach Team Indiana in the Down Under Bowl in Sydney, Australia in 1998 and in Gold Coast, Australia in 1999, with teams winning championship each year.
Wife, Janice; children, Kevin and Tim; grandchildren, Ryan, Kaitlyn, Kiera, Jordan, and Morgan.
Coaching Experience: Assistant football coach at Penn HS 1963-1967; head football coach at North Miami HS, Lowell HS, Madison-Grant HS, McCutcheon HS, and Merrillville HS; also served as head track coach, assistant wrestling coach, assistant baseball coach, and freshman basketball coach for 5 years at Penn; retired from coaching in 1987 with a total of 41 years of coaching at the high school level and a record of 113-92-2 in 20 years as a head coach.
Coaching Honors: 1982 - McCutcheon team was 13-1, Hoosier Conference Champions, and State Runner-up; named Region IV and Hoosier Conference Coach of the Year; 1983 - McCutcheon team was Sectional and Hoosier Conference Champions; served as North All-Star coach; named Hoosier Conference and Ball State Alumni Coach of the Year; 1985 - Merrillville was Sectional Champs; became IFCA 100 game winner; 1986 - named North All-Star coach and Merrillville was Duneland Conference Champions.
