2-year football letterman; All-North Central Conference; All-State; state scoring leader with 151 points, 25 TDs 1951; played on school's first undefeated team since 1909, school's first NCC football champions, and mythical state champions; named high school All-American 1952; also lettered in basketball, baseball, and track.
